Growing Families San Juan Islands
Growing Families San Juan Islands (or just "Growing Families") is our local, public health home- and community-visiting services that is offered to growing families throughout our community. We offer pregnancy support for all pregnant mothers and families with a newborn. "Home visits" or "community visits" can be provided in the home, at a mutually-agreed upon public location (e.g., a library), in our offices, or over the phone. We are here to support our community by providing evidence-based public health services, promoting the health of mothers, children, and families throughout San Juan County.
If you would like to refer someone or if you are interested in participating yourself, please use the link above to access our referral form. Upon receipt of a Growing Families referral, our Community Health Services staff will reach out to assess need and eligibility for any other programs or services available in our community. Clients will be assigned to one of our knowledgeable public health nurses and/or a community health worker. Our staff will work with our clients and their families to schedule an initial visit.
Universally-Offered Home & Community Visiting
Home- and community-visiting services are available for all pregnant women and families with a newborn, promoting the best possible health and wellness outcomes for our growing families. There are no income restrictions or requirements to receive services through our Growing Families service.
First Steps: Maternity Support Services (MSS) & Infant Case Management (ICM)
Public health nursing, mental health, and nutritional services available for Medicaid-enrolled pregnant women and their infants. Community, office and home visits available. Learn more about the First Steps Maternity Support Services and Infant Case Management program.
Breastfeeding & Lactation Services
In-home and phone consultation and support for breastfeeding mothers, available 24-hours a day. On-call support is available:
