San Juan County District Court is proposing to amend its local rules this year. Attached is the full set of proposed rules, with new and amended rules bolded in the table of contents. Please submit all comments on the proposal to dstct@sanjuanco.com no later than June 3, 2021. All comments will be posted publicly on our court webpage, per GR 7.

Prosecuting Attorney
The San Juan County Prosecuting Attorney is a small law office with the elected prosecutor, four full-time deputy prosecutors, two people working in the victim services center, and four to five staff positions.

Drug Court
Drug Court uses a multi-disciplinary “team” approach to managing participants’ cases, though the Judge maintains the ultimate decision as to when participants progress between phases, are sanctioned, graduate, or are dismissed from the program. The Drug Court Team is comprised of Judge Kathryn Loring, Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Teresa Barnett, Public Defender Alex Frix, Case Manager Brad Fincher, Drug Court Coordinator Jane Severin, representatives from the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office, and representatives from Compass Health.
