SAN JUAN COUNTY, WA. August 2, 2023 – A lengthy investigation into a sex offense case concluded on July 31, 2023, when defendant, Jason Aldous, was sentenced to 82 months in prison and 36 months of community supervision following his release.
“While the sentence is a significant amount of time, it is nowhere near the amount of time that the victim will have to live with the despicable acts that were perpetrated upon her,” said Sheriff Peter.
The charges he was convicted of and sentenced for include two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and three counts of distribution of a controlled substance to a person under 18 years of age.
“This sentence is a strong message to perpetrators of sex crimes that these horrible actions will be thoroughly investigated, thoroughly prosecuted, and not condoned in our community. I applaud the strength and courage of the victim in this case, as well as Detective Ray Harvey and Prosecutor Teresa Barnett, for their tenacious efforts in investigating and prosecuting this case,” said Sheriff Peter.
