Biography
Mike Thomas became County Manager in June 2013, succeeding veteran government administrator Robert W Jean who became County Administrator Pro Tem in June, 2012, with the departure of Pete Rose, who served six years as the County's first administrator under its new charter. With the passage of three Charter Amendments in November, 2012, the position transitioned to County Manager, with executive authority officially being handed off to the County Council.
Thomas came to San Juan County with more than 24 years experience in local government, most recently as City Administrator of Enumclaw, Washington. His background includes experience in economic development, planning and budget analysis.
