Animals & Pests

When people get a disease from an animal, insect, or other pest, that is called a zoonotic disease or a vector-borne disease. Check out local recommendations and resources to prevent exposure.

Food Safety

Sewage & Septic

We provide technical assistance to property owners and contractors, including information on siting, design, installation, operation, and maintenance of on-site sewage systems. You can also become certified to inspect your own septic system through one of our classes.  

Shellfish

Always check the Shellfish Safety Map or call WA State’s 24-hour hotline at 1-800-562-5632 before harvesting shellfish! Find information about recreational and commercial shellfish harvesting.
