SAN JUAN COUNTY, WA March 11, 2024 –San Juan County’s Environmental Stewardship Department is pleased to support Orcas Recycling Services and The Exchange in a free household hazardous waste pick-up event on Saturday, March 23, 2024.
Orcas Recycling Services (ORS) and The Exchange will collect hazardous waste at the Orcas Transfer Station on Saturday March 23rd, from 10 am to 2 pm. The event is free to all Orcas households (businesses need to contact them directly).
- This is a mid-year event, and therefore cannot accept liquid fuels (hold on to those until June 1st, when they have the annual summer clean up event).
- As always oil-based and latex paint will NOT be accepted at this event. Paints and stains are recyclable, and ORS accepts them every day, year-round, for free.
You can learn all about what will be accepted at the cleanup and all about the paint recycling program at: www.exchangeorcas.org.
