San Juan County Opens Resident Camping Reservations for 2024
San Juan County Parks, Recreation, and Fair Department is pleased to announce the Resident Reservation program will now be offered through the department’s reservation website. On Wednesday, February 28, at 6:00 am through Tuesday, March 5 at 4:00 pm, reservations will be available online to San Juan County residents. This is a one-week phase only, prior to our reservation website opening to the public on Wednesday, March 6 at 9:00 am. San Juan County is Prepared for Inclement Weather – And You Should Be, Too
San Juan County’s Public Works Department provides for the safety of island residents and visitors throughout the county through efficient use of labor and equipment. Crews have been removing accumulated snow and providing traction materials where required on snow and ice-covered roads in order to maintain safety. Environmental Stewardship Department Requests Salmon Recovery Project Proposals
San Juan County’s Environmental Stewardship Department is requesting Salmon Recovery project proposals for the Salmon Recovery Funding Board (SRFB) 2024 grant funding cycle. Private citizens, non-profit organizations, local, state, and tribal governments, and special districts are invited to apply. Letters of Intent are due February 16, 2024.
San Juan County Seeks Consultant for Comprehensive Plan Update
San Juan County’s Department of Community Development (DCD) seeks a qualified consultant to review and update the County’s Comprehensive Plan in accordance with the Washington State Growth Management Act. All submittals must be received by 12:00 pm on Friday, January 26, 2024. The RFP is available to view and download here: sanjuancountywa.gov/1557/Current-RFPs.
New State Building Codes Delayed Until March 2024
San Juan County’s Department of Community Development is alerting the public of a revised timeline for the implementation of new state building codes. The Washington State Building Code Council (SBCC) voted to delay the effective date of the 2021 codes until March 15, 2024. Previously, the effective date was October 29, 2023.
