[ARCHIVED] Join us at the San Juan County GIS User Group meeting, Wednesday Nov. 9 @ 10AM

Open Data for all

Recently, the San Juan County GIS team unveiled a new Open Data website. The goal of this website is to make it easier for citizens and organizations to access data produced by the County.

The new emergency response mapbooks are almost complete. We'll have a sneak peek at some drafts. The production of the mapbooks are being funded by our local Fire, EMS, and law enforcement agencies. The final PDF files will be available to everyone.

We'll also discuss some of the cutting edge methods we're using to increase the performance of Polaris on slower connections. These capabilities are so new they aren't yet available on all web browsers.

The San Juan County GIS User Group is open to anyone interested in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) in San Juan County, WA. The User Group meets quarterly at the Friday Harbor OPALCO office (1034 Guard St). Video conferencing is available at the Eastsound OPALCO Office (183 Mount Baker Rd). The meeting is scheduled from 10:00AM to 11:30AM.

No GIS experience is necessary to attend. Come with questions, projects, or ideas.
